SeaSplit’s subsea robotics technology is backed by a growing portfolio of patents, protecting both the hardware and the communication methods that make our systems work. Our intellectual property is held by Heliopolis Holdings Limited, the group’s IP holding company, and developed by our own engineering team.
Underwater Docking Station — Hardware Patent
Granted patent covering the docking infrastructure that lets autonomous underwater vehicles return to base, recharge, and exchange data without manual intervention — including a repositionable optical communication module and the control system that manages it.
Granted in the United Kingdom, Norway, and as a Unitary Patent covering 18 European states (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, and Sweden) under patent EP4392325. A corresponding U.S. application is pending.

Wireless Communication Method for an Underwater Vehicle — Communications Patent
A dual-channel communication method that lets an underwater vehicle exchange data with a base station using acoustic signals for long range, combined with optical signals for high-bandwidth data transfer — the technology underlying SeaSplit’s ADSCOM and MEDSCOM systems.
Allowed by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (Notice of Allowance issued July 2026) and pending in Europe.
